ReplyDeleteOkay, after some serious consideration..the one food I could not live without would have to be cashews. Because not only are they yummy and nutritious raw; they are incorporated in many of the vegan recipes that I make on a regular basis. I use them to make sauces, desserts, casseroles, and I throw them into stir-fry. My life as a vegan would not be as easy if not for that crazy little nut ;)
ReplyDeleteOhh.. I want this book!! (not because I'm vegan, but I have vegan veggie days and am Dairy free!!)
ReplyDeleteThe one food I couldn't live without is sushi! I love it with every fiber of my being!! haha
I couldn't live without avocados. I crave their buttery goodness, plus an open faced avocado sandwich is my go-to lazy meal.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and I want this book. I couldn't live without black beans. I can eat them everyday!
ReplyDeletejust one food?
ReplyDeletehmmm
i guess brown rice because i use it so many different ways
ooh..i have this book on my amazon
"waiting to buy til i have the money" list :)
I can't live without fruit. I LOVE fruit of all kinds and in any form - apples, oranges, berries, cooked, raw, frozen, pulverized in a smoothie. I have such fond memories of fruit from my childhood. Strawberries in summer. Grapes in the fall (I always got some whenever I had a cold, so they seem like a very nurturing food to me). Apples, peeled and sliced and served in a cup. Think I'll go make a fruit salad now. :-)
ReplyDeleteEvery single God given food on this planet is amazing, of course.. But I could not live without flour. I cook biscuits, pancakes, cookies, pita bread, crackers, flat bread, amaranth bread, muffins and so much more.
ReplyDeleteEven without all of the other side ingredients used with flour, it is very delicious in it's simplest form of plain flat bread.
I could not live without chickpeas! Dips, spreads etc. Man I love them,
ReplyDeleteHi! I have been a silent reader for a while now, and was introduced to your blog by Abbie Smith Rufener...my sister-in-law. I LOVE this blog and I have been so inspired by everything you write. I am on my way to being vegan...it is a little bit of a process for me and the food I could not live with out: TOMATOES! I love them!
ReplyDeleteAwesome article. I'm following.. privately though. Does it have to be publicly? Anyway. I could not live without black beans. :) But trust me, there are plenty of foods I couldn't live without. That's just one of them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I can't live without them b/c they're just so awesome! They can be eaten alone, with rice, on salads, in soups. So versatile.
ReplyDeleteBananas! this is one of the only foods that if we are out I make a special trip to the grocery store to replenish. I am in love these things. They are so versatile, packed with nutrients and even come with their own carrying case.
ReplyDeleteI am not totally sure how the following things works, but I am a follower under s.adams I wasn't sure if I need to be a follower under my sign in name. one day I will figure technology out!
I can't live without chocolate ice cream! It's my comfort food. Hopefully as I progress in my healthy eating I will "need" this food less and less! I have used several of Dreena's recipes and would LOVE her book!!
ReplyDeleteooh yay!
ReplyDeleteoh man, this is a hard question. I would have to go with oatmeal. I love simple hot cereal.
ok i am going to sound like a crazy pregnant woman here, but my favorite thing to eat is a big fat dill pickle. (i am not pregnant) i like my food to have a little bit of crunch and i like salt and garlic. i could eat them all day, and some days i do!
ReplyDeleteI could not live without spinach! I use it in green smoothies every morning, eat salads, cook it, wilt it. I also eat bananas and avocados every day but those were already taken ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love Dreena and would love a copy of her book! I have been a (cheese-egg-pasta) vegetarian for 2 years and a (whole foods) vegan for 3 months, but I don't own a single cookbook :-P
WATER. I cannot live without water. It is the first drink I have when I wake up and the last drink I have before retiring. I love how smooth it goes down. It also helps me in my life as I never measure so a little water added make me look good (or at least better)
ReplyDeleteI had a dream last night that I did NOT sin the book. I was devastated. lol.
