A teaser: (Some) Weight Loss Pics

Why the big smile, you ask?

I lost all my "baby weight," which gives me reason to celebrate! Woohoo!

Last post I mentioned I'd share some "before" and "after" pics.

Here's the deal. I'm kinda a modest person. What I mean is, I'm not the kind of gal who wears bikinis, short shorts, shows cleavage, ect. It's just not my style.

Further, the last thing I want to do when I feel plumpish (like every time right after I have a baby), is take a picture of myself in all my chubby glory. I'm telling you this, because my "before" pic below is kinda lame. But you can (hopefully) tell the difference between the two pics (I have a few more I want to share, but I'll save those for later).

3 days afterbirth: 30 lbs. later/lighter,
approximately 5 months post-partum:

So you ready to hear my "secret"? I lost the weight all the while maintaining a healthy milk supply.

I didn't take diet pills. I didn't do a juice fast/cleanse. I didn't do anything "crazy."

Well here it is: good ol' fashion calorie dilution. I want to tell you all about it, but I'm afraid I'll have to do so in bits and pieces over the next few posts.

In the meantime, here's another "after" pic..

MOTHERHOOD: The best kind of workout

No, Jillian didn't give me these biceps, a little imp named Salem did!

  4. Great, great, great!!
    1) Weight loss while breastfeeding: I read that it`s ok to go back to your pre-pregnancy weight. But what if I want to lose a little more (I`m not fat or anything but would just like to lose a few more pounds)? They say the bad stuff from your fat cells might go into your milk and harm the baby. I understand you`ve lost quite some weight after having your 2nd child, any advice on it?
    2) It`s always encouraging to see beautiful people choose modesty - nobody can say they do it because no one wants to see what`s under their clothes anyway... ;).

  5. Help! Sometimes writing something is just like talking too much and then thinking "why can`t I just shut up?!". I feel a little bad about the 2nd comment I left above - I didn`t mean to hurt anyone! It`s just something I heard people say. Going modest is a great thing to do - no matter what your size is! Have a nice day everybody!

  7. @Michelle O.: :)! Yes, I know it`s her fourth child and I think she looks wonderful! Great rolemodel! I know she has done the weight loss a few times already. So this thime she went back to her pre-pregnancy weight. My question was what if you want to lose more while breastfeeding - only about this particular case I`ve read that it might be harmful. As she started eating a whole foods diet during her 2nd pregnancy, she probably lost a lot of weight after giving birth to Asher while breastfeeding and did she feel this was ok? I might also put it like this: Did your initial weight loss happen while breastfeeding Asher and what was your experience with it? Phew, now I feel like Sherlock Holmes ;)!
