I love Valentine's day, and I'm big on celebrating. Valentine's, and any holiday really. What makes many holiday's extra special is the food, and that means lots of kitchen time. As much as I love cooking, I just want to be like a "normal" person and just be able to go out to a nice restaurant and eat the food that I want instead of having to make everything from scratch.
Many years it's been a small affair (maybe some flowers or some sort of strawberry dessert, since that's my husband's favorite), but this year we're doing a seven course dinner.
I'm so excited because tonight my husband and I are going to a vegan Valentine's dinner held by a local farm sanctuary. I'm thrilled because even though I've been vegan for going on six years now, I've never been to such an event/gathering as this. Fancy schmanzy and everything will be 100% certified vegan (and I'm getting the gluten free version to boot!). My husband was a bit reluctant to go (will I even enjoy any of the food?..), but he's being a good sport about it, and is happy that he can take me out to a dinner where I will thoroughly enjoy the meal.
Anyway, I'll try to take some pics to post on the blog for next week and tell you all about it...in the meantime, would you please take a minute (I swear that's all it takes!) to cast me a vote? I'm not asking you for money, just a little bitty vote. Click on the link below, scroll down to my blog, click on the link to my blog, and then it will give you directions on how to do the rest. Your support gives me the motivation to keep on bloggin', so thank you!

Done! Enjoy your dinner :)

Voted! Hope you have a fantastic dinner out!! Sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave been voting for you, and was thrilled to learn about your wonderful blog via the contest. Am really enjoying reading your posts and looking at archived recipes as I am trying to bolster my family's meatless meal repertoire. Added your site to my list of "blogs that inspire me" on my own blog, so hope some of my readers also head over to your site for ideas and encouragement. Keep up the wonderful writing and ideas! Warmly, Eila (writer of the full plate blog)
ReplyDeleteIf you're along the Wasatch Front, I suggest Sage's Garden Cafe in Salt Lake City. My husband and I ate there on our anniversary and were really impressed. I think they're entirely vegan and the food was great! It was a pretty classy setting too. I've also heard about Ginger's Garden Cafe in Springville, but haven't eaten there. We also like Cafe Fresh at the Orem Good Earth. I recommend the Garden Explosion Wrap.
