This is what my blog told me the other day.
No really.
I couldn't believe it either.
But then I thought about how the blog is about three years old now, and well, is looking a little dusty. A little cluttered. Maybe it does have a point.
I've loved this little blog from the very beginning.
Because as I write, I think of you. How you are struggling, like me, to make good, healthy choices every day. And sometimes it's hard. And sometimes you're not sure what the "healthy" choices are.
Because you like me, are most likely swimming under a pile of laundry (or if not, will be soon).
Because you like me, look at these recipes like these, and instead of salivating, feel guilt because you're not making them, but instead have a list, long and wide of things you need to do, have to do, want to do.
I've loved this blog because it helps me to realize that I'm not alone.
So thank you, dear reader. Thanks for reading.
This blog has been as much of hobby as anything. There have definitely times when I've considered axing the blog from my life. You know, when things are so crazy and busy and you think, "something has GOT to go" (like, that would have been my life ALL last year). And often I would think, "I've just got to cut the blog." But I never could do it (for reasons stated above).
But I feel the time has come to make that step. My life has opened up a bit, and the time is there for me to commit. Make that step to professional blogger.
Now let me say, while I have this blog, I've never considered myself a "blogger." I know virtually nothing about the blogging world outside of my own blog and a few of my favorite blogs I peruse when I get a chance.
My routine and strategy for blogging thus far has been fairly rudimentary: thoughts in my head or pictures in my camera, then I create a post when I have time. Simple as that.
But going professional will change things a bit (for the better!).
It means:
1) I'll be blogging much more regularly. Like Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays for sure, and more in between. Shorter, more regular posts is what you can expect.
2) My blog is going to get a HUGE facelift. Same content (but more), more streamlined look. Easier to navigate pages, more useful tools. And can I say, my graphic designer is amazing, so with her help it's gonna rock. And I can't wait to share the new look with you.
3) A return to giveaways, contests, and interviews. Also, product reviews.
4) I want to get a bit more personal. You know, we've known each other for awhile so I think it's okay to take things to the next level. A more intimate look at the inner workings of my life, if that's okay with you.
5) Don't worry. This face lift isn't going to change me or this blog. I know, we all get a little ancy at change. But this is going to be GOOD change. My hope is that it's going to make spreading the message of the joys of plant-based living even easier. I promise I'm going to make every effort to remain authentic and open to YOU, the reader.
There are a few more REALLY exciting things in the works, but I'm not ready to discuss the details just yet. Patience. I promise it's going to be good.
I will keep you updated on the upcoming changes, and am thrilled about what's coming.
In the meantime, I've got to get started on that face lift!
Yeah! So excited for the changes!
