An Update

I feel like I owe you guys an explanation of where I've been.  I really hate being away from this blog for this long.  I had gotten so used to posting daily & this past week of non-posting has been killing me.

1st of all, this house selling thing is WORK!

We've had a lot of showings in the past week & recently put it on the MLS a few days ago.  We had a showing today & have a few more scheduled.  We can't take the insanity of living in a home that has to look lived in but can't look "lived in," if you know what I mean.  With 4 living, moving, real children nonetheless, who--make messes!  need food!  want to play with more than just books!

So the past few days we've boxed up & packed away in our storage unit all unneeded clothes, toys, etc. We're down to bare bones now--just furniture & towels.  Stuff that makes our home look homey for when people come to look.

Aside from that, I've been spending all my spare moments try to wrap up the finishing touches on my new site.

I hope you can forgive me for dragging this out.  If I had the site 100%  ready for you today, I would launch it.  It's pretty & clean, & I'm really excited for it.  But, I'm the type of person that will not accept a job done "almost" or 90%.

I'm trying to get everything perfect & in place so that when I'm ready to launch it will be a lovely experience for anyone who comes to visit.  This means fixes any little glitches that only my programmer understands.

About my cleanse.

I'm still doing it!  I'm actually quite surprised.  It's not like I thought I'd cheat or quit before 2 weeks, I just thought it would be much harder than this.  I had some intense longing for oatmeal or something starchy, like gluten-free bread the first few days, but beyond that I'm really loving food.  Especially watermelon.  The past day I think all I've eaten watermelon.  It's what I've wanted & it totally satisfies.  Weird, I know, because I'm the queen of variety & had you told me 2 weeks ago I'd be happy just eaten watermelon, I wouldn't have believed you.  I have lots to share about the cleansing experience, a ton of pics, & a few recipes (but of course, I'm waiting to put that on the new site).

Well there it is lovelies.

I just wanted to let you know why I haven't been poking my head around these parts the last week or so.  I have been living life in a very intense way (to be honest, I kinda wish it was a little less intense & that we've sold our house already).

But enough about me.  I hope you are doing well.  I hope you have big plans for the weekend (we're taking a LONG road trip--more later) & you enjoy every moment with your loved ones.

See you soon (hopefully at my new site)!

  2. Thanks for checking in, and glad the cleanse and house-selling is going well so far! I've been eating more than half a watermelon per day on my own the last few days! They've been cheap and ripe and so satisfying for my pregnancy water/sweet-cravings. Yum!!

We are having some friends over for a BBQ tomorrow....aloha rice salad, green salad with a variety of dressings, homemade bean burgers, white and wheat buns, hamburger fixings, beef burgers (for the kids), corn on the cob, and watermelon is on the menu! We hope to have an outdoor picnic with them since the weather is supposed to be nice. Should be fun!

I think we'll spend the remainder of the weekend starting to organize the closets in the baby room (my husband currently keeps his clothes in there), and doing some yard work. I'm slowly starting to enter nesting mode :)

    Have a good weekend!

  4. No hurries on the blog, we'll still be here when it's ready. I'm actually preparing to move out of the country and try to get a spot in a conference (gotta finish this article!) at the same time, so... I know how the lack of blogging feels. *sigh*

Oh, and your motivation on the raw cleanse is amazing! Maybe one day I'll try it too. :)

  5. I hope you know you never have to apologize to us for your absence! Your life, children, job, home, and future is a lot more important than stressing about updating your blog for all of us in cyberspace! We love your posts and we love you, but we know you are human, with responsibilities and littles tugging at your knees. We can wait, they cant!

As previously stated, we'll be here when it's ready. :)

Now, go on and live your life. We'll just keep checking back EVERYDAY FOR THE NEW WEBSITE!!! :)
