It's close, it's very very close.

So.  I've a bit mum about my new site, mostly because I realized that these things take awhile & I wanted to wait until the site was ready to launch before I opened my big mouth about it again.

Well, I'm thrilled to say, it's almost here!

The site is up (although it hasn't be launched, so you can't check it out, yet) & I'm working on the finishing touches today & will hopefully be ready to share by the weekend.  I also have a lot of things to share about my cleanse experience (I'm on day 3 & feeling sooo good) including some fab raw recipes.

In the meantime, here's a little video from a new Youtube series I think I'm really going to love, called Olive Us, featuring the Design Mom & her adorable family.

Also, here's an article, How to Miss a Childhood, that I've been dying to share with you.  If you have children or you think you will someday, you NEED to read this.

I want to speak to the issues it raises in an upcoming post, so if you get a chance to read, please share your thoughts in the comments section below.   I'd love to include them in the future post about the topic.

That's it for now.  As SOON as I'm done with the site & ready to launch, I will let you know--I'm so excited!

  2. This topic (though NOT the phone-more so the internet, email, blogs and Facebook) has been on my heart for a few months now. My oldest is just 6 yrs old and she starts 1st grade next year. Even as I write this I am crying b/c a huge part of her childhood is over and I wish I could get it back. Not necessarily because I missed it due to technology but more so because it was so short and went by so quickly. To be truthful, the past few years I have missed quite a lot due to technology, and I hate that. I have been trying now, for the past few months, to savor the moments, to play with them more, to hug and kiss them more, to smell the sweet smell that lingers in their hair and necks, to kiss the chubby cheeks that are all too quickly thinning out...I know that in just a blink of an eye it will be all over and I will regret missing it. I already do and I so I try desperately to hold onto every moment I can even though most moments I am still missing.

  3. Atwood: Oh, everything you said, I can totally relate with.

Even though my time on the internet right now is due to my "job" (this blog) I can't help but long to spend all of my time with my kids. Since Joseph is not employed right now, we figured for the time being I'd be the working parent & really work on building this blog & teaching group exercise classes. He'd be the primary childcare giver, until he begins his career w/ the AF.

Prior to really delving into blogging a few months ago, I rarely got on the internet for anything. We don't have a TV & I don't have a fancy phone so you won't find me tempted to text or get online with my phone. So for me, I feel like the pull of technology is only a recent thing, one that I find a necessary part of what I do. I'm learning how to juggle it all, & consider my natural aversion to technology a blessing, b/c I'm much more inclined to go for a walk with my kids than FB or tweet, although I've done these two things much more than I ever have in the past few months, again, because I'm at my computer more than I ever have been, working on blog stuff.

Anyway, motherhood is so much harder in ways that I never imagined. I never imagined I would NOT want my kids to grow up. I too, see the time slip through my fingers like sand. Nothing you can do to stop it, we can only take advantage of each moment we have with our children.

Thanks for sharing. Your words really resonated with me. I too, have a 6 (almost 7!) year old, & I just can't bear the thought of him, & my other kids, growing older. I know, it's a fact of life, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier.

  5. I also really liked the How to Miss a Childhood article! We don`t use fancy phones but I am a person with a wandering mind - (thanks for mentioning this in the videos - concentration and focus is always useful, not only during workouts ;)!), so right now I`m working hard on staying present and really being available for my husband and my little girl. Looking forward to seeing the new site! And also thanks for the new videos, combining them is fun and my arms and legs are starting to get toned, jippie!

  6. Looking for to your "makeover"!!!
As for the How to Miss a Childhood" everyword is sooo true. We have have had no cable since December, an I LOVE not having it. It was really just junk that my girls (8 & 11) wanted to watch. Now we read, or they read, or just play. I have not missed it at all.
    They have adjusted well too!

  9. Mrs. Vanna Z: Me too! Between Hyrum & Asher's baseball games, showing the house, & getting ready to move everything into our storage unit, I'm finding it hard to fit in time to get my site done! Hopefully this weekend I can finish everything up.
